Katie Jennings  filmmaker/creative director

My work is storytelling. I’ve been privileged to work close to home with the Bainbridge Island Museum, Arts and Humanities, and Artisan Resource Network groups as well as the renowned outdoor learning center, IslandWood. I’ve enjoyed my travels across the United States with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center’s HIV Vaccine Trials Program, and international production trips with public television to New Zealand, Japan and Peru. I work with First Nations elders and Fortune 500 businesses, scientists and artists to make sure their essential messages make it to the screen.

New Canoe

Historian and storyteller Dr. Vi Hilbert from the Upper Skagit Tribe called recording technology the "new canoe" for transporting cultural information. Since working with Vi on her life story (Huchoosedah: Traditions of the Heart; BBC/PBS) I've helped hundreds of culture-keepers, artists, scientists, coaches, businesses and educators preserve their knowledge for the future.
